About Doris

Doris McConnell is an experienced public servant who has been part of the Shoreline community for over 34 years. Elected to the City Council in 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2019, and serving as Deputy Mayor in 2019, Doris has dedicated her service to improving the lives of Shoreline residents.

Doris's life and career reflect her commitment to service and community. She worked her way through college, earning a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology, and later attended a master’s program in school psychology. Her professional career includes roles as a school psychologist in the Bremerton School District, the Boeing Company, and Windermere Real Estate.

As a city councilmember, Doris has served on the Regional Water Quality Committee, the Domestic Violence Initiative Regional Task Force, and the Seashore Transportation Forum. She has also served on the APAMO board (Asian Pacific American Municipal Officials), the Advisory Council, and Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee (TIS) for the National League of Cities.

Doris's dedication extends beyond her public service roles. She has served in a variety of roles in Shoreline School District’s PTAs, and developed the Teen Gift Drive as part of the Holiday Food Baskets, among other initiatives. She currently serves on the National League of Cities Advisory Council and served four years as a director of their board.

Endorsed by the 32nd LD Democrats, KC Councilmember Dembowski, Shoreline CM Robertson, Laura Mork, and many others, Doris is seeking re-election to continue her invaluable work in Shoreline.
